Our menu is filled with wines that have soul.
They tell their own story. The story of where they’re from and how they came to be. While it takes more effort, we’ve found these well-crafted wines across all prices. Explore the world, we'll be your guide.
The same enthusiasm goes into our food. We choose our traditionally cured meats and cheeses the same way as our wines, by tasting them. Our small plates, soups and desserts are homemade, starting with simple, fresh ingredients.

Ownership and Operation of Zephyr
The transfer of ownership and operation of Zephyr Winebar + Café took place in October 2023. At that time, Sean Hartwig purchased this unique spot from Daniel Rutz. Dan, his family, and dedicated staff operated Zephyr Winebar + Café starting in 2016, its year of inception. Now Sean and his wife, Jen Schaap, have the pleasure of carrying on the spirit of learning about great food and beverages with guests and staff.
The vision, name, and love of great wine and accompanying food have been maintained and expanded upon. Sean loves sharing with new guests and our devoted Zephyr friends his love of food, wine and service, which he cultivated in Southeast Michigan as a manager at Zingerman’s Delicatessen in Ann Arbor.
“I feel incredibly grateful to be a part of this chapter of Zephyr. I’ve inherited a beautiful, intentional space, have talented staff and feel such good will from the community at every level.” Sean finds joy in meeting new wine and food enthusiasts and engaging in the local and regional community while learning from the wonderful business community of Marquette.
