Featuring guest chef Miriam Rowe who draws from her family's roots in Bangladesh and France to prepare a stunning Feast for New Year's Eve. To make a reservation call Everyday Wines at 906-225-5470
*This feast happens to be inherently gluten free and can be vegetarian by request.
Miriam Rowe is a passionate cook - preparing food for her family, friends, and guests of the Sweetwater Inn.
She comes from an international family, who have influenced that way she thinks about and prepares food. Spending her early years living in Dhaka, Bangladesh and childhood summers in Brittany, France, all lay the foundation for a lifetime obsession with food. Bangladeshi food culture instilled in her the importance of sharing food and the joy of preparing meals for large community gatherings. Her summers in France, filled with pastries and cheese, fostered a respect for food producers and reverence for good quality ingredients.
Miriam grew up in the suburbs of Toronto, Canada, in a diverse community of long-time Canadians and immigrants from around the world. She loved exploring new flavors in the kitchens of her school friends’ homes and recreating these meals with her mother at home.
In Toronto, Miriam worked as a food animator, running a community garden and starting a community kitchen with a newcomer community.
In 2015, Miriam moved to Marquette with her husband, Dan. They welcomed a little yooper in 2016, Maddie. Miriam’s love of hosting and cooking for people found new purpose in 2017 when she and Dan opened the Sweetwater Inn - a vacation rental in Marquette’s East-End.
